RCMP Adopts Latest Simulation Technologies

From the growing number of retiring baby boomers to the current recession, these are just some of the factors that have contributed to the RCMP’s hurdle in recruiting new cadets. As part of RCMP’s aggressive recruiting campaign, they are putting huge investments toward renovating the RCMP training academy and implementing some of the latest simulation technologies as part of their training facilities.

Eight computerized driving simulators will be installed which will help RCMP cadets to safely learn how to control a cruiser at high speed while dodging civilians and other road obstacles en route to an emergency location.

Other simulation technologies being installed at the RCMP academy include a role-playing interactive video simulator. This machine can simulate real-life scenarios to assess a cadet’s ability to quickly and accurately respond to various on-duty scenarios. In addition, an airmunition firing range will be established as part of the RCMP academy’s latest renovations.

The $1.2 billion price tags for these newly renovated facilities and latest technologies show that the RCMP is serious with their latest RCMP recruitment
campaign.
